DESIGN GOALS: Our Client approached us looking for help designing their new forever-home!  They longed for an interior that would be light-hearted and whimsical to act as the backdrop to their laid-back lifestyle!  They wanted to achieve the ‘feeling’ of living in a Rustic Treehouse – without literally building a treehouse!

Through the use of natural, raw-looking materials such as the stained wood beams and shiplap panelling on the ceiling, we were able to play-up the home’s angled ceilings to create more depth and charm throughout.  We continued this approach further by applying a rustic fieldstone veneer to two of the home’s interior walls, along with the occasional barrel vaulted ceiling throughout.  These simple, but thoughtful techniques create beautiful moments of warmth and whimsy as you pass from room-to-room.

For all of the secondary spaces throughout the home, we curated a vibrant, yet sophisticated pallet of complimentary colours and patterns that would  introduce another level of fun onto both the walls and floors of the home!

By choosing to paint all of the home’s primary rooms in a simple, off-white colour, the idyllic scenery of Howe Sound in the distance, remains the focal point of each space, and the reason our Clients fell in love with the property in the first place!

GENERAL SERVICE: conceptualize | design | represent | specify

PROJECT TYPE: new build

PROPERTY TYPE: detached home
